'ViceVersa' is the title of the vivid painting by Aaron Lu, a painting of strong multi-tones where shapes become passages leading from cooler colours and quiet moments of nightwalks to louder and warmer atmospheres. 'ViceVersa' is meant to be inversely displayed to the viewer, altering from upper to lower rotating in direction from North to Souths. It brings about the idea of following the stars, representing the totality of the whole. In highlights and inversions of palettes, the artwork depicts the universality of emotions.
The artist explains how the painting was inspired by a musical duo 'Swara' - Noel Scerri and Toni Curmi, and has been shown the first time at a musical evening in Valletta when Toni Curmi was back on playing the Guitar after 10 years. ViceVersa is the artist's vision of Toni and Noel as ‘musically inseparable’ and a complimentary reflection of one another. The album by Swara will be named after the painting and will also be entitled 'ViceVersa'. |
